P’uxw wu thut - Liamb Sylvester
Indigenous Land Steward
My Traditional Name is P’uxw wu thut and my English name is Liamb. My parents are Amanda Sylvester (nee George) and William Sylvester. On my father’s side my grandparents are William (Bill) Sylvester and late Teresa Aleck and Joanne Hopkins, and on my mother’s side Jenny George and Howie Thomas. I come from Somena and Clem Clem in Quw’utsun.
I’ve always enjoyed nature, finding new hiking places to do with family, friends and dogs. Learning about different plants, insects and wildlife! Growing up I learned how to cut fish, depending on the way you cook or smoke fish, I learned from my father and Grandpa. I’m enjoying the opportunity to learn more as I work for Stqeeye’ Learning Society.
